| Mark Barton has been in the pruning, landscape and nursery industry for 33 years. As an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist his interest in plants and landscape started very early. He began learning topiary pruning at age nine and later studied Horticulture for three years. Arboriculture and our knowledge of how trees and shrubs grow has changed dramatically in the past quarter century. Staying abreast of the most current techniques and practices requires continual education. Landscapes are micro- environments. To fully understand what is going on in a landscape you need to understand the interaction of the plants with the soil, sun, wind, shade and water. Every plant has a different growth habit.
